Why buy or rent a property in Phuket?

Well, if you like the idea of living the rest of your days in one of the most beautiful tropical islands in the world, then why would you not want to? You can live your dream of being a stones-throw away from white-sand beaches with temperate surf that shimmers like crystals on a blanket of silky blue. Who in their right mind can say that that prospect isn’t even the slightest bit attractive to them? If you’re looking for an exciting change in your life, and you feel like South-East Asia is your kind of place, then there’s no finer or more appropriate location than the gorgeous island of Phuket.

But, there’s more to buying or renting property in Phuket, than moving to an exotic part of the world. You might not even be interested in uprooting your life personally. Although a gorgeous holiday home that you can visit whenever you fancy it is surely appealing? You could rent out for the rest of the year when you’re not around! With the correct investment, a stunning sea-view property might be able to see you a significant return on your investment through holiday rentals.

Or perhaps, you might look at buying a property that you can offer as a long-term rental as opposed to a holiday home. A beautiful house that might serve as a wonderful forever home for a family. In any case, your investment would be safe, given how the property market in Phuket has grown exponentially over recent years.

The fact is, Phuket is an immensely popular destination with a rich and colourful cultural tapestry. This makes it appealing to expatriates and holiday makers alike. Therefore, you’ll never have much trouble filling your property, should you choose to do so.

You may also wish to rent a property, as a short-term solution. Perhaps you’re not quite settled on the idea of moving to Phuket permanently, and would like to “test the water” so to speak. If that’s the case, then renting is a very sensible way of going about it. You don’t have to make a long-term commitment, and you can get a lot for your money as well! In fact, for the price that you’d pay to rent a villa or stunning condominium in Phuket, you’d be lucky to get a run-down, one-bedroom flat in central London. Is that enough to pique your interest?

But ultimately, when it comes to buying or renting (whichever is best for you), the main reason to choose Phuket is the rolling emerald green hills. Geographically, Phuket is one of the most naturally stunning locations in the world. So, if you’re looking for a good enough reason, let it be that. Let it be the lazy fish-tail palms that sway gently in the breeze that comes rolling in over the Andaman Ocean. Let it be the glorious midday sun that beats down, creating a sparkly haze atop the surface of the ocean. Let is be the mind-blowing tropical storms that you can admire from the safety and comfort of your own condominium, whilst you admire the raucous power of mother-nature. Let it be Phuket.

What to do in Phuket

Phuket, the Pearl of the Andaman Sea, is Thailand’s largest island and world renown for its beautiful beaches.  With more than 30 beaches on the island there is a wide variety to choose from.  Ranging from secluded coves to long wide stretches of sand.  They offer soft white sand, clear blue sea, marine life and spectacular sunsets.

After a day or two relaxing, go out and explore the rest of what Phuket has to offer.   Visit Big Buddha, it sits at the top of Nakkerd Hill and stands forty-five meters tall.  From the top of the hill you have a panoramic view of Chalong Bay and the islands beyond.

A short drive away is Wat Chalong, the center of religious and cultural activity in the area.  The highlight here is the Grand Pagoda that is beautifully decorated with Buddha images and pictures that depict his life story.

Incredible shopping at the Naka Night Market, it is like no other market around.   There all sorts of things to buy such as fruits, clothes, souvenirs and cheap local food.   This is an eventful night out.

Nearby is Phuket Old Town, historically rich where you will see an abundance of temples, Chinese and Buddhists, beautiful shop houses and a large selection of restaurants.   It’s an easy walk around and well worth it.

Check out the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary.  You will learn all about elephants, get to meet them and support ethical elephant tourism.

A must day trip is a visit to Phang Nga Bay, home to about 40 small islands. Canoe, snorkel, sunbath and take in all the natural beauty of the islands.

There is much more to do in Phuket.  Golf, Thai cooking classes, visit a Rum Distillery, take in Patong nightlife – the list is endless.  Phuket is an amazing place to visit – what are you waiting for.

What are the popular property types in Phuket

Phuket is home to a vast number of foreigners.  Whether they are working in the dive, hotel or education industry or have decided to retire here, Phuket offers a sunny and laid back way of life.  In addition, Phuket is an increasingly popular resort destination for Asian and Westerners.

Investors find this tropical island an ideal place to invest.  The lifestyle is unique, medical facilities are excellent and there is a new international airport within 45 minutes of most destinations in Phuket.

Phuket is home to many luxury villas, which are located on the mountain or cliff sides on the west coast in the prime locations of Kamala, Surin and Kata, or in gated communities such as Laguna.   They offer breathtaking sea and coastline views.   Most are situated within a private or resort community and benefit from world-class spa and concierge services, great restaurants, tennis and fitness activities.

There is also a large segment of condominiums available in Phuket.  They can range from high-end first class condominiums to smaller one, two, three and even studio apartments.   They are in demand by visitors and can generate good rental income.

Another popular home option is the smaller two to four bedroom pool villas.  These homes are medium in size, built with the focus of the living area and bedrooms around the pool and offers complete privacy. This is a perfect option in Phuket’s hot tropical climate.

Phuket still has lots of land for sale, which gives an investor or homeowner the option to build their very own dream home.

And if owning a business is your interest, Phuket has many commercial property opportunities available.   It’s all here in sunny exotic Phuket.
