NCPO agrees on increasing financial aid to rubber farmers

BANGKOK, 30 July 2014 (NNT) –The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has approved about 6,000 million baht in financial aid for rubber tree growers.

A spokesperson for the NCPO said that the board had approved 6,159 million baht from the central budget to provide assistance to registered rubber plantation farmers who lack supporting finance.

The Bureau of the Budget has directed the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operatives to allocate 1,900 million baht to 63,947 families by 31st July 2014 from a total of 79,520 registered farmer families.

Moreover, the NCPO board has ordered financial help for farmers who suffered from agricultural disasters in 2012-2014, targeting 584,005 farmers in 68 provinces, to be assisted by 8th August 2014.
