President Nitinai Sirismatthakarnsaid the new stops were added between late last year to early 2017.

HKexpress launched the twice-weekly Hong Kong-Chiang Rai service on Nov 25, 2016 while Flydubai started the twice-weekly Dubai-Bangkok route from Suvarnabhumi on Nov 29 last year.

Japan-based Peach Aviation began its daily Okinawa-Bangkok service from Suvarnabhumi on Feb 20 while Beijing Capital Airlines debuted the weekly Haikou-Chiang Mai route on March 27 and Haikou-Chiang Rai on March 31, Mr Nitinai said.

Hebei Airlines launched the three-times-a-week  Shijiazhuang–Bangkok service from March 27 while Kunming Airlines began its first international service -- Kunming-Hat Yai -- on April 1, representing Songkhla's first direct link to China, he said.

AoT operates Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang International, Chiang Mai International, Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International, Hat Yai International and Phuket International airports.
