Royal Phuket Yacht Club Closing For Upgrade

The island's first luxury hotel, The Royal Phuket Yacht Club in Nai Harn will close on May 31st for a substantial upgrade.

It's expected the property will reopen in time for high season 2015.

Late last year the property traded to a substantial Singapore investor who has committed to restoring the resort to a leading standard.

As Phuket continues to see a surge of new greenfield developments, pressure is continuing to be put on legacy properties who will increasingly be faced with the prospect to modernize in order to remain commercially viable.
