Bangkok came in at No. 4 on the list of "Best Cities in the World" and No. 1 on the list of "The Best Destination Spas in the World" in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards 2022 for the country.

Thailand, October 5, 2022 - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is happy to announce that in the recently released Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards 2022, Thailand came in third on the list of "Top Countries in the World" and Bangkok came in fourth on the list of "Best Cities in the World." Numerous Thai islands, hotels, and resorts also received high marks on other "best of" lists.

Thailand was one of just two Southeast Asian nations to place in the top 10, taking third place among the 48 "Top Countries in the World" rankings. The kingdom came in third with a score of 90.46, behind only Japan (91.17) and Portugal (91.22) and ahead of Singapore (90.09) in fourth.

Bangkok was one of just two cities from Southeast Asia to make the list of the 10 "Best Cities in the World." With a score of 89.36, the Thai capital came in fourth, after Victoria, Canada (89.46), Singapore (89.49), and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico (92.94).

Ko Samui came in third with a score of 92.13 on the list of the top 10 islands in Asia, followed by Phuket (5th) and the Phi Phi Islands (10th) (76.41).

Out of a total of 50 resorts, Rosewood Phuket was ranked 11th in the list of "The Best Resorts in the World."

Two facilities in Thailand were among the 50 hotels that made up the list of "The Best Hotels in the World." These were the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok along Chao Phraya River in 48th place and The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok in 20th place.

Chiva-Som in Hua Hin was ranked first on the list of "The Best Destination Spas in the World" with a score of 99.57, and Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa on Ko Samui was ranked fourth with a score of 99.01.

The Southeast Asia trip aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express, a Belmond Train, from Singapore to Bangkok was ranked eighth out of a total of 20 train trips in the list of "The Best Train Trips in the World."

The list of "The Best Hotels in South-east Asia" featured five Thai establishments. The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok came in first with a score of 99.45, followed by the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River in third with a score of 99.04, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok in fifth place with a score of 98.65, Capella Bangkok in seventh place with a score of 98.49, and COMO Metropolitan Bangkok in eighth with a score of 98.20.

The Best 15 Resorts in Thailand and the top resorts in Thailand under the country and region-specific categories of "The Best Resorts in the World" were included in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards 2022.
