Although most properties are labelled with numbers to signify the location, this superb abode is simply named “Spirit of Asia”. The name itself exudes a certain charm that rarely graces the property market in Phuket, while daring to offer a unique character true to its name.

Once traversing the lofty slope towards the house you will be greeted by a plethora of artworks, statues and sculptures straight from the annuls of history and time, such as a solid stone Dharma Wheel and choice Khmer treasures that date back from the 9th to the 13th century. The miscellaneous objet d'art are not items systematically purchased from the local market, but inspiring works chosen with love, care and attention to detail in-mind. This house is akin to a living art gallery that oozes class in huge measures and you can't help but feel moved by the ambience of the surroundings.

Making my way through the entrance, I encountered the reception and conference area which incorporates a covered terrace that offers many seated options to sit back and enjoy the views whilst strategically placed lighting illuminates the area after nightfall and creates a Moorish and soothing ambience.

From the entrance you can also gain easy access to the spacious garage, where you will find most tools imaginable meticulously stored, labeled and placed within racks for efficient usage.

There are three gardens if you want to be exact that are set within a total area of 1,695sqm and laden with a wide variety of Palms, flower beds and tropical plants. The lower garden is where you will find a quaint Thai Sala that overlooks a pond that is surrounded by natural beauty. The views from the sala are top quality, private and very tranquil. The second garden is an even quieter affair situated at the rear of the property, guarded by massive trees that offer the utmost in seclusion and shade from the elements. The third garden is situated at the side of the house within close proximity to the study/office, and is probably offers the most privacy of the three.

From the reception area, you can walk by an impressive waterfall and down the cobbled steps to the ‘wellness area' that comprises a 30sqm swimming pool, a gymnasium and a sauna against a backdrop of the waterfall and the lily pond with fountains. This is another secluded area that cannot be viewed from anywhere outside the property. There is a multitude of seating options poolside, and within 5 paces you can be in the sauna or gaining a vigorous workout in the gymnasium.

Perched directly above the ‘wellness area' is the self-contained flat, which the owners of the property would like to keep for their own usage in between their travels around the world. For most of the time the owners will be travelling, but they would like to keep the flat for themselves and will remain quiet and your privacy will be preserved - but the decision lays with the tenants, so you have the final decision on this situation.

Making our way up to the second floor is where you will encounter the best views this house has to offer, and you can get a true reflection of this position overlooking the gated community, luscious greenery and the formidable mountain ranges in the distance. From the upper level you can also enjoy the shade of the surrounding tall trees that offer a respite from the glaring sunshine.

The two separate modern Thai pavilions are home to a living room and western kitchen in one, and two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a study/office in the other. All of the second floor areas own expansive makka wooden floors, vaulted ceilings and the same styled Asian artworks wherever the eye should wander.

The Master Bedroom is one of my favourites, due to the great views out to the private terrace, overlooking the estate and mountains directly from the double bed. The room is also fitted with side cabinets that offer lots of storage space, walk-in wardrobe, a TV, DVD player and sound system. Through the high patio windows you gain easy access to the terrace, which offers the greatest vantage point within the property to enjoy the views. There is also an external Jacuzzi, which is out of sight to anybody from outside the house, and is a great place to just sit back and unwind.

The guest bedroom is also situated in the same pavilion, and is equipped with beds and a built-in wardrobe. Both bedrooms have aesthetically pleasing ensuite bathrooms with lavish walk-in showers and special unique features and fittings especially imported from Europe.

Within the same pavilion is the study/office, which is fitted with wooden worktops and matching storage cabinets for maximum efficiency. The study also offers a small terrace which overlooks the third secluded garden.

The second pavilion is home to the living room, dining room, western kitchen, laundry room and a storage room/pantry.

The location of the property is situated on a gated community at Nai Harn within a short distance to the beach. Nai Harn Beach is one of the Island's finest, where you can enjoy beautiful sunset views on the west coast of Phuket. Bars, restaurants and shopping facilities are also within a short distance.
