Ban Chang is a mid-sized coastal town in Rayong province on Thailandâ€™s Eastern Seaboard. It is located approximately half way between Sattahip and Rayong City. It is the Western most district in Rayong province, Sattahip being the Eastern most district in Chonburi.

The town itself is centered along highway 3, Sukhumvit Road. The beaches, for which it is renowned, are approximately 10 kilometres from the town centre. It is also the home of the famous Strip; a street of bars catering mainly for foreign customers. The â€œstripâ€ or "Soi Low Key" of bars is located in the town centre, just off the main highway.

There are three main beaches in Ban Chang plus a few smaller ones just outside the town.

The larger three are Phala beach, Payn beach and Naam Rin beach or to give them there full names Haad Phala, Haad Payoon and Haad Naam Rin.

All three beaches in Ban Chang are around nine kilometres from Sukhumvit Road which runs through the centre of the town.
